5th Grade Newsletter

September 2, 2010

Hello Parents,

Can you believe it’s already September?  Time flies!  A couple things on reading logs:

  • They are due every Tuesday.  The next one is due 9/7.
  • They are worth 25 points and must be signed by a parent/guardian.
  • The student must write their reflection at the bottom.  This is not a summary, but a reflection, and should fill most of the space provided.
  • A blank reading log is always sent home in Thursday folders.  You can also pick up blank reading logs from the hanging file outside the classroom door, or you can download them from the 5th grade class page on the school website.

Also, don’t forget that PICTURE DAY is next Wednesday.  If you want to order pictures your child needs to bring in the picture form that day or before.  If you have any questions please let me know! Thank you.  Have a great weekend and remember- NO SCHOOL MONDAY.  Happy Labor Day!

Blessings: Mrs. Blomenberg

5th Grade Newsletter

August 26, 2010

Hello Parents,

Our first full week of school has gone smoothly!  A couple quick notes…

  • If your child receives a grade below 82% on any assignment they may choose to redo it.   Any papers that have been redone are to be turned in by the next Thursday.   The grades of the original assignment and the corrected assignment will be average for a new grade.
  • In your Thursday folder this week you will find a Spelling Pre-test that we took in class on Wednesday.  If your child has a 100% on this test, then they do not need to take the test on Friday.  However, if they missed any words they will have to take the test on Friday.  Please be sure you look this over with your child.   We will have Pre-tests every Wednesday and they will be sent home on Thursdays.
  •  I also want to state that I truly value each child as the special creation of God that they are.  Please know that we are a team in your child’s education and if you have any questions or concerns I’m here to help.

Blessings: Mrs. Blomenberg
