Weekly Newsletter

September 6-10

Dear Parents,

Just a reminder, there will not be school on September 6 in observance of Labor Day.

Picture day is September 8.  If you would like to order pictures, please return the form that went home last week.  You will need to pick what package you would like and enclose a check.

The Church/School Community fair is coming up on September 12th.  The children are going to be singing our school theme song at the 10:30am service.  After the service, there will be lunch, games and fun for all.  See you there!

On September 23th, the third grade class will be going to the Argo Gold Mine in Idaho Springs.  We will leave the school at 8:45am and return around 3:00pm.  The children will need to bring $7 for lunch at Beau Jo’s.  Please send the money in before the day of the fieldtrip.  Please return the permission form as soon as possible so I can figure out the drivers.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Mrs. Quante

Bible:  The memory verse for the week is from James 1:17.  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father.

Math:  Please practice your 2’s and 3’s multiplication tables.  We will test on them September 29 and September 30.

Social Studies:  The first part of the Colorado project titled Finding Resources is due September 10.

Writing:  We are learning how to write interesting and unique topic sentences.

Science:  We have just begun our rocks and minerals unit.  If you would like to reinforce what we are learning about in class, the Denver Gem and Mineral show is September 17-19 at the Denver Merchandise Mart.  The show has many activities for kids and children under 13 are free.  I attend this show to find more wonderful rocks to add to my collection.
